Whisper Mountain Outbreak, Toge Productions’ latest title that blends isometric survival horror with online co-op, announced today that the title will be entering early access on August 11th. Along with the announcement of impending Early Access is the announcement that a demo will be released today, accessible on the game’s Steam page.
Toge Productions, no stranger to horror games, announced their new survival horror title last year. Shortly after the announcement came a demo in late fall of 2024. The demo was only available for a limited time and only allowed access to a single scenario, The Hospital. Allowing players to check out an earlier build of the game as well as play with their friends, as the demo had online co-op available. The demo period also featured a chat opportunity with the devs in the Toge Productions Discord server, which is a very cute idea.
Now players will get the opportunity for a little longer of a hands-on feel, leading up to the Early Access release of Whisper Mountain Outbreak coming in August of 2025. The updated demo will have more maps (more than just The Hospital), allow players to upgrade skills, craft items, customize characters, and more.
What is Whisper Mountain Outbreak?
Mentioned earlier, Whisper Mountain Outbreak is an isometric survival horror online co-op game by Toge Productions, an Indonesian-based indie studio and publisher. Offering challenging gameplay for both online and solo players, you’ll be able to explore supernatural-infested locations, solve intricate puzzles, and battle terrifying creatures. Set in a remote mountain town with the ever-looming Mount Bisik as the backdrop. However, when an evil force awakens from Mount Bisik, the government spurns into action.
That’s where the player comes in. Playing as a secret government agent, you’re sent to investigate and take care of the paranormal threats. Players will be able to choose scenarios, specializations, and work with other players to survive the outbreak. Boasting puzzle-solving, resource management, and supernatural combat, players will choose whether to stick together or Scooby-Doo themselves into a hellish nightmare beyond what they’ve already found themselves in.

- Survive and fight the horde – Monsters will come in waves. Fight them off using a variety of melee and ranged weapons, use herbs to recover your health, and protect each other’s back!
- Co-op multiplayer madness – Teamwork is key in this race to safety. Communicate using in-game proximity voice chat, save downed teammates, and share the scarce resources you find.
- Explore, solve puzzles, and find a way to escape… together! – Work together to solve puzzles, find keys, unlock doors, and figure out a way to escape the curse.
- Learn new skills and craft items – Turn your hard-earned experience and resources into tackling harder missions by utilizing your newly learned skills and crafted items.
- 2.5D retro graphics with a claustrophobic, dark, and creepy atmosphere – A lingering fog, tight rooms, limited visibility, and eerie whispers, presented in 2D pixel characters with 3D low-poly environments. Offering both nostalgic and freshly terrifying experiences.
- Choose your specialization – At the start of each run, choose from three random classes (out of six total). Each class has unique perks and skills, allowing for different playstyles and strategies.
