At IGN Live, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion made its big comeback with a pair of new trailers, a deep-dive developer interview, and the opening of digital pre-orders ahead of its September 5 release. The sequel to the 2019 mecha action title introduces players to a new generation of armored suits, particle weapons, and war-torn worlds on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game’s latest story trailer teases a darker, more intimate narrative wrapped in sleek action. Players step back into the cockpit in compact, nimble suits rather than massive mechs to battle corrupted AI, rival Outers, and titanic alien threats. Alongside the trailer, series producer Kenichiro Tsukuda sat down with IGN to explain the game’s shift in design, the new asynchronous multiplayer system, and how Titanic Scion expands on the conflict between humanity, Outers, and the Immortals.
Particle Weapons and Tactical Combat
The newly released gameplay systems video breaks down the Combat Support System—an arsenal of built-in particle weapons for your suit. These include the Assault Shift (auto-targeting guns), Guard Shift (a directional shield), and Wing Shift (high-speed flight). These abilities draw from a finite resource known as Femto, encouraging players to time their boosts and shields carefully.
The combat is faster and more fluid than ever, blending third-person shooting with aerial movement and RPG-style upgrades. After defeating enemies, players can scavenge parts and craft their perfect loadout, fully customizing their Arsenal to suit their approach—whether that’s ranged dominance, melee rushdowns, or defensive tactics.
Pre-Orders and Editions
Digital pre-orders are now live, and Titanic Scion comes in three digital editions:
- Standard Edition ($69.99)
- Digital Deluxe Edition ($89.99) – Includes post-launch DLC featuring new story content and customization options
- Super Digital Deluxe Edition ($99.99) – Includes the above plus a digital art book and soundtrack
All digital pre-orders will receive the Special Equipment Set DLC, featuring the Bahamut Arsenal Skin, Beguiling Suit, and exclusive weapons like Victorious Gleam and Variable Breadth.
For physical collectors, the Marvelous USA Online Store and select retailers will offer a Limited Edition ($99.99) that includes an art book, original soundtrack CD, flight tags, patches, and an acrylic standee.
Mechs, Mysteries, and the Return of the Reclaimers
Titanic Scion brings the series to a massive open-world setting with more diverse terrain and enemies, ranging from biomechanical horrors to corrupted Outers. Players can explore on foot, fly, and ride horseback across the battlefield. Co-op and asynchronous multiplayer features round out the experience, allowing players to connect with friends or fight alongside ghosts of others’ runs.
