Arc System Works has revealed a heartfelt new project titled Dear me, I was…, an interactive narrative adventure with a painterly aesthetic and introspective story. The game is set to launch digitally in Summer 2025 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
Blending rotoscoped animation with watercolor art by Taisuke Kanazaki, Dear me, I was… invites players to relive the modest but deeply emotional life of a woman shaped by joy, sorrow, and the people around her. The experience is designed to be short and poignant, with a playtime between 40 minutes and an hour.
A Life Woven by People
While most games focus on grand stakes or dramatic conflict, Dear me, I was… takes a more intimate approach. Players experience a quiet, grounded narrative that captures the personal growth and emotional rhythms of everyday life. With its simple yet expressive visuals and reflective storytelling, it aims to offer a meditative break from genre conventions.
Digital-Only, Art-Driven
The game will be available as a download-only title for Nintendo Switch 2. As part of Arc System Works’ growing lineup of artistic, story-driven games under the POPARC label, Dear me, I was… continues the publisher’s efforts to broaden its portfolio beyond action and fighting games.
