Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially revealed that Digimon Story: Time Stranger, the newest entry in the long-running RPG franchise, will launch on October 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Developed by Media Vision Inc., Time Stranger sends players on a high-stakes journey through both the human and digital worlds to stop a crisis that spans dimensions—and even time itself.
Pre-orders are now open for the PlayStation versions and the Collector’s Edition, with Xbox and Steam versions set to follow. A new trailer showcasing the game’s time-traveling storyline and over 450 collectible Digimon can be viewed here.
A New Digimon Epic Begins
Time Stranger is positioned as a fresh entry point for newcomers and longtime fans alike, offering a visually rich RPG experience that blends traditional turn-based combat with modernized systems and a deep Digivolution mechanic. Players assume the role of a young protagonist who discovers a mysterious link between their world and the Digital World of Iliad. With help from iconic creatures like Agumon and Gabumon, they must unravel a mystery that could spell doom for both worlds.
As players travel across dimensions and timelines, they’ll meet a massive cast of characters, recruit and evolve Digimon into powerful forms, and uncover new parts of the Digital World never before seen in the franchise.
Pre-Order Editions and Bonuses
Bandai Namco has revealed multiple editions of the game, each with unique content:
- Standard Edition – Base game, “Uniform of a Certain School” costumes, Adventure Item Set, Black Agumon, and Black Gabumon.
- Digital Deluxe Edition – Everything in Standard, plus Cyber Sleuth Set Costumes and the Season Pass.
- Digital Ultimate Edition – Deluxe content plus additional costumes, side missions, early unlocks for special Digimon evolutions, and a Cyber Sleuth BGM Pack.
- Collector’s Edition – All Digital Ultimate content, a physical artbook, Digimon Card Game set, and an exclusive Jupitermon: Wrath Mode statuette. Available only through the Bandai Namco Store.
The Season Pass will feature three DLC packs, each containing five additional Digimon and a new story episode. It also includes the Golden Moai farm item for customizing your Digifarm.
