Mixtape Revealed at SGF 2025, Launching Day One on Game Pass

Beethoven & Dinosaur announced Mixtape, a coming of age story published by Annapurna Interactive. The trailer featured a number of killer 80s tracks and in general just looked sick. On their last night together, three friends embark on one final adventure. Let’s take a look.

Mixtape aims to be the coming-of-age adventure set to the soundtrack of a generation. I live for these types of games. Like Nick and Norah before them, Beethoven & Dinosaur are going to use music to get us to care about fake people. Technically, again, because that’s kinda what they did with The Artful Escape. Have you played The Artful Escape? You should play it.

En route to their final party together, a perfectly curated playlist draws them into dreamlike reenactments of their formative memories. Experience a variety of narrative vignettes exploring the pivotal moments that shaped them. It’s the greatest hits of teenage friendship, from the first kiss to the last dance.

Really, I’m sold on the description, but the number of bands they’ve got contributing to the soundtrack is what really makes this interesting. It’s so funny that with just a few moody camera angles or slowly raising the volume at the right time can impress so many emotions and resonate with so many people.

Mixtape Key Features (The Music)

  • DEVO
  • Roxy Music
  • Lush
  • The Smashing Pumpkins
  • Iggy Pop
  • Siouxsie and the Banshees
  • Joy Division
  • …and MANY more.

That’s a hard working MANY, cause man, that list is stacked already. Maybe this is just millennial bait, but it’s working for me.

Skate. Party. Avoid the law.

Make out. Sneak out. Hang out.

You got it! Mixtape has no official release date yet but is aiming to be released on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Mixtape will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass (both Series X|S and Windows). Stay tuned to MonsterVine for ongoing coverage of Summer Games Fest, indies with killer soundtracks, and Mixtape.
