Out of Words Brings Handcrafted Co-Op Platforming to PC and Consoles in 2026

Revealed during the Summer Game Fest Showcase, Out of Words is the latest artistic collaboration from Felix the Reaper developer Kong Orange, stop-motion specialists WiredFly, and acclaimed poet Morten Søndergaard. This unique co-op platformer is being brought to life in partnership with Epic Games Publishing and is set to launch in 2026 on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Accompanied by a gorgeous new trailer, Out of Words invites players into a surreal clay-crafted world where communication — and connection — are key. It’s available to wishlist now on all announced platforms.

Where Words Fail, Co-Op Prevails

Out of Words follows Kurt and Karla, two characters navigating a whimsical but perilous world filled with handcrafted clay cities, ancient catacombs, and mysterious language-based puzzles. The adventure unfolds as a tale of love, friendship, and the power of unspoken feelings — all told through co-op mechanics designed to require trust, timing, and communication.

You and a friend can experience Out of Words via online cross-platform or couch co-op, making it as much a relationship test as a puzzle-platformer.

Key Features

  • Fully Handcrafted World: Every set, prop, and character is built using traditional stop-motion techniques, giving the world a tactile, dreamlike texture.
  • Poetic Origins: Based on an idea by poet Morten Søndergaard, the game explores themes of expression, connection, and meaning through interactive storytelling.
  • Designed for Two: Whether online or side-by-side, players must work together to solve puzzles and navigate environments that challenge coordination and creativity.
  • Story-Driven Adventure: Kurt and Karla’s journey is personal and cosmic, with the stakes of saving both their friendship and their fantastical world.

Coming in 2026

While Out of Words won’t release until next year, the newly debuted trailer gives players a glimpse at the striking claymation art, layered puzzle design, and heartfelt narrative to come. Preview assets are now available — though press are advised to only use b-roll in edited coverage.

Wishlist Out of Words now on Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and stay tuned for more from Kong Orange, WiredFly, and Epic Games Publishing.
