You’ve probably heard of ratatouille, but have you ever been the rat? Polden Publishing and indie team toR Studio have announced Restaurats, a chaotic medieval tavern simulator where rats are in charge — cooking, serving, upgrading, and managing their very own restaurant in a fantasy world of skeletons, vampires, and orcs. The game’s debut demo is available now on Steam, with support for solo play or up to four-player co-op.
Medieval Mayhem in Every Meal
In Restaurats, you and your rodent friends are running a full-blown fantasy restaurant from the inside out. That means taking orders, cooking food, cleaning up messes, and keeping all sorts of mystical customers happy — from grumpy ogres to picky vampires. It’s a frantic mix of teamwork and timing, wrapped in warm tavern wood tones and dripping with satire.
Each day ends with rewards and Bonus Cards, which can drastically affect your rat’s stats, the tavern’s income, or the food on the menu. Over time, you’ll unlock new blueprints, decorations, and gameplay upgrades, all while customizing your very own rat chef to become the most fashionable furball in the kitchen.

- Custom Rodents – Customize your character and show off your style as the realm’s trendiest tavern chef.
Early Taste, Big Potential
Restaurats is already off to a strong start with its Steam demo, where you can test out the chaos firsthand. The game mixes the co-op energy of Overcooked with simulation and RPG-lite systems, all while leaning into humor, creativity, and charm.
Developed by the experimental minds at toR Studio, and backed by publishing newcomers Polden, Restaurats is shaping up to be one of 2025’s standout indie party sims. If the demo is any indication, it won’t be long before rodent-run taverns take over your game night.
