Ever wondered what would happen if Tony Hawk swapped his skateboard for a train? Indie developer Undercoders and publisher Fireshine Games have the answer with Denshattack!, revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase. Launching in early 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S (day one on Game Pass), Denshattack! takes rail riding to an entirely new level, literally.
Extreme Train Action Across a Dystopian Japan
In Denshattack!, players kickflip, grind, and combo through more than 50 levels of futuristic rail lines in a derelict Japan. The game dares players to master fluid trick chains, nail precision landings, and even take on massive boss fights aboard speeding trains.
The world itself sets the stage: after a climate catastrophe, the wealthy live in air-purified domes while the rest survive in the wastelands. A rebellious movement known as Denshattack has reclaimed abandoned railways, turning them into a new arena for competition, style, and survival.
Big Names Behind the Tracks
Helming the project is David Jaumandreu (Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound), while the soundtrack is powered by none other than Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Sonic Frontiers). Lopes’ new single, Densha ni notte ne!, is already featured in the reveal trailer, with more guest composers to be announced in collaboration with music label Kid Katana later this year.
“Creating the world of Denshattack! has been a joy for the team,” said Jaumandreu. “Inspired by the art, culture, and music of Japan, and, of course, our love of trains and skateboarding, Denshattack! is a project we’ve wanted to make for a long time, and we can’t wait for the world to experience what we’ve been building.”
Ride Your Way, Rule the Rails
Players can create their own trick style, chaining combos to unlock upgrades and carve their path across Japan. Expect gang rivalries, wild challenges, and an expressive movement system that rewards both precision and flair.
Denshattack! will be available early 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, launching day one on Xbox Game Pass. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam.
