Team17 and Ghost Town Games have announced that Overcooked 2 is heading to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. The reveal came straight from the Onion King during the latest Nintendo Direct, bringing the BAFTA award-winning co-op classic to a new generation of console chefs.
What’s New in the Switch 2 Edition?
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Overcooked 2 packs in all the frantic, couch-coop chaos of the original with fresh enhancements tailored for the new hardware. Among the biggest additions are:
- Enhanced visuals on par with PC
- 4K 60FPS gameplay while docked
- Camera Play so that you can capture every laugh (and every heated kitchen argument)
- Game Share support
- A brand-new playable chef: the Platinum Platypus
Cross-platform play with original Switch players remains, and any DLC you already own carries over seamlessly. Players can also transfer their save files back and forth between the Switch and Switch 2, making it easy to continue their culinary journey.
Pricing and Upgrade Options
For returning players, the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade is priced at $9.99, while new chefs can grab the full edition for $29.99.
