Code Vein II Launches January 30, 2026 — Bandai Namco Reveals Story Trailer, New Characters, and Time-Bending Combat

Bandai Namco has revealed new details and the official story trailer for Code Vein II, the long-awaited sequel to its 2019 cult-favorite action RPG. Launching January 30, 2026, the game is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, Code Vein II expands the anime-inspired, post-apocalyptic world of the original, this time giving players the power to wield time itself as a weapon. The story follows the Revenant Hunter, a warrior resurrected by the mysterious Lou MagMell, as they battle to prevent a cataclysm known as the Resurgence. This world-ending event threatens what remains of humanity.

A Tale of Fate, Blood, and Sacrifice

The story trailer introduces fans to a new cast of Revenants bound by blood and destiny. Lou MagMell, who brings the protagonist back to life using her own heart, grants them the power to traverse time, shifting between past and present to alter history itself.

The journey leads players through haunting, post-apocalyptic environments, including:

  • The Sunken City is the flooded ruins of humanity’s former glory.
  • The Undead Forest, teeming with corrupted life.
  • The isolated MagMell Island, shrouded in mystery.

Among the Revenants encountered are:

  • Josée Anjou, the “Queen of Solitude,” was the ruler of a sanctuary now lost beneath the waves.
  • Holly Asturias, the “Reaper Witch,” is a healer carrying the curse of death.

Composer Go Shiina returns to craft a powerful new score, heightening the emotion and scale of the game’s cinematic storytelling.

Combat That Bleeds Style and Strategy

Code Vein II deepens the series’ signature Blood Code system, giving players new ways to absorb enemies’ blood to unlock devastating abilities and power-ups. Using specialized gear known as Jails, players can unleash time-warping attacks and manipulate the battlefield in ways never before possible.

The revamped Partner System ensures that allies are integral to survival. Companions fight, heal, and react dynamically during battles, emphasizing teamwork in the face of overwhelming odds.

Customization also reaches new heights, with options to tailor the protagonist’s body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, and makeup, allowing players to create truly unique Revenants suited to their story.
