Darktide Reveals Hive Scum Class With Dual-Wielding and Toxic Combat, Launching December 2

Fatshark has revealed Hive Scum, the next playable class coming to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on December 2, 2025. Described as “the worst of the worst,” this new underhive bruiser embraces illegal stimms, improvised weapons, and dirty fighting tactics to dominate the streets of TertiuFam.

A Criminal Enforcer Straight From the Underhive

Hive Scum represents the violent cartel fixers said to secretly control Tertium. Their kit leans into chaos and chemical corruption, highlighted by a customizable Stimm that lets players mix their own cocktail of combat buffs. Alongside the Stimm, the class brings toxic-coated weaponry and Chem Bombs that leave deadly hazards for enemies unlucky enough to inhale them.

Darktide’s First True Dual-Wield Class

Fatshark is introducing dual-wielding to Darktide for the first time through Hive Scum’s frenzied combat style. Players can equip:

  • Twin autopistols or stub pistols to overwhelm enemies with relentless fire
  • Dual shivs for fast, brutal takedowns in close-range combat

The class also features a suite of improvised tools of destruction, including crude shivs, crowbars, and bone-shredding saws, embracing a “use whatever hurts most” philosophy.

Build a Hyper-Aggressive Fighter With the New Talent Tree

Hive Scum’s talent tree supports multiple playstyles, whether you want to:

  • Dive into hybrid melee-ranged chaos
  • Specialize in explosives and toxins
  • Become a fast-hit, fast-retreat glass cannon
  • Mix and match for your own unpredictable style

Powerful abilities include Blind Grenades for disorienting crowd-control and a missile launcher capable of dropping elites or monsters in a single devastating shot.

Own the Streets With Full-Body Tattoos and New Face Paints

Customization goes even deeper with reimagined tattoos, gritty hairstyles, and Darktide’s first-ever face paints. Players can pick from six voice sets across three personalities, letting their Hive Scum embody the menace and swagger of a true underhive enforcer.

Hive Scum follows the Arbites class released earlier this year, expanding Darktide’s roster with its most chaotic fighter yet.

Release Date and Pricing

Players can wishlist the Hive Scum Class now. The DLC launches on December 2, 2025, across all platforms for $11.99.
