Eight Minutes of Raw Combat and Mysticism in New Fatekeeper Gameplay Showcase

Paraglacial and THQ Nordic have released the first full gameplay reveal for Fatekeeper, offering an eight-minute, unbroken look at the studio’s atmospheric first-person action RPG. After its debut during the THQ Nordic Showcase in August, this new video delivers the most detailed glimpse yet into the rugged, mystical world perched high in the mountains above Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The footage pulls players directly into the ruins of an ancient fortress, an eerie, cloud-kissed place where stone remembers violence and shadows hide lurking Shortlings. But amid these threats, whispers of a far deadlier warrior raise the stakes of every encounter.

A First Look at Exploration, Gear, and the Druid Protagonist

The uncut gameplay highlights Fatekeeper’s early story threads, interconnected exploration, and the weighty, savage combat at the heart of the experience. It also introduces players to the Druid, the game’s fully customizable protagonist.

Equal parts warrior and mystic, the Druid can wield swords, axes, and other melee weapons with crushing force or channel elemental magic to tear enemies apart from afar. Whether you build a bruiser, a nimble skirmisher, or a spellcaster who dominates with fire and storm, Fatekeeper gives players the tools to forge their own playstyle.

A Handcrafted World of Ruins, Mysteries, and Relics

True to its RPG roots, Fatekeeper invites players to wander deep caverns, forgotten sanctuaries, ancient battlegrounds, and tranquil forests, uncovering relics and lore buried beneath centuries of collapse. The world is handcrafted and narrative-driven, but packed with secrets that reward curious exploration.

Enemy encounters are built around reactive melee and precise spellcasting, encouraging players to learn attack patterns, adapt their builds, and switch tactics on the fly. Gear matters just as much as every new weapon, armor set, and artifact can tilt combat in your favor.

Early Access Coming in 2026

Fatekeeper is currently in development at Paraglacial, a studio of just 12 developers shaping an ambitious, atmospheric world. The game will launch for PC with an Early Access release planned for 2026.

Players can wishlist the game on Steam. For deeper dives into its creatures and worldbuilding, Paraglacial has released a series of dev blogs.
