Bethesda Game Studios has released Fallout 76: The Slasher, the game’s 70th free update, alongside native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
The limited-time event runs through December 1 and follows a mysterious killer posing as Fallout’s infamous Pint-Sized Slasher.
Track Down the Pint-Sized Slasher
Players will investigate disappearances across Appalachia by following clues and examining evidence the killer leaves behind.
New activities and challenges will become available throughout the season, gradually advancing the mystery toward a cinematic confrontation.
The event incorporates scavenger hunts, unmarked graves, Daily Ops, Infestations, Mischief Night activities, and other content already spread across Appalachia.
New Enemies and Rewards
The Slasher has gathered a group of devoted followers, including Pint-Sized Phantoms and other fanatics.
Players will face these enemies while collecting evidence tied to the killings and earning themed rewards.
Those rewards include new power armor and skins.
A New Seasonal Event Format
Creative Director Jon Rush described The Slasher as a “first of its kind update for Fallout 76,” with its story developing over several weeks.
Rather than placing the event in a single activity, Bethesda is connecting different parts of Fallout 76 into one ongoing storyline.
The studio says this limited-time event format could return in future updates.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Versions Available Now
Fallout 76 has also received native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
Bethesda says players can now experience the game at 1440p and 60fps, while owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions can upgrade at no additional cost.
Previous-generation consoles will continue to receive support, including additional visual and stability improvements.
Fallout 76: The Slasher is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.
