An all-new Captain Tsubasa game, titled Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, was revealed during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase yesterday.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is set to be the biggest Captain Tsubasa game yet, as it’ll feature 22 national teams, over 110 playable characters, and more than 150 new moves to use. It features gameplay that is described as “Super Action Soccer,” which is said to make the fast-paced soccer more tactical. Tadayoshi Makino is set to return as sound composer from the previous game, having made 80+ new BGM tracks.
Though no specific release date was revealed for the title, it was announced that the sequel will debut on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam this year, meaning it’s planned to arrive at some point in 2026.
