Hello Kitty Island Adventure City Town DLC launches April 16

Hello Kitty Island Adventure City Town DLC is set to launch on April 16, adding a new region, characters, and customization systems to the life sim.

Developer Sunblink and Sanrio revealed the expansion alongside a new trailer, confirming its release across Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Apple Arcade.

A new city hub with shops and story content

City Town introduces a large new area built around a colorful urban setting. The expansion adds over 90 quests and is expected to offer around 30 hours of content, with activities spread across both surface areas and underground sections.

You’ll work with characters like Kuromi, My Sweet Piano, and Tuxedosam to build up the city by opening and managing new shops. These include locations like a plushie boutique, orchards, and an arcade, all feeding into the game’s progression loop.

USAHA*NA leads the new content

A major addition is U*SA*HA*NA, who acts as a central character for the DLC.

You can build a friendship with her across 35 levels, unlocking rewards as you go. She also ties directly into one of the expansion’s bigger features: the Imagination Cafe.

Imagination Cafe adds deeper customization

The Imagination Cafe lets you design and run your own themed space. You create and serve items like mochi, dango, and boba tea, with customization options tied to how you build and decorate the cafe.

This system fits within the broader focus of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, which mixes light-management elements with its exploration and social systems.

New visitors and ongoing progression

City Town also introduces new visitors connected to USAHA*NA, including characters like Pannya-chan and Buppyu-kun. You’ll prepare apartments for them in the Rainbow Tower, adding another layer to the game’s housing and customization systems.

There’s also a teased mystery guest, though no details have been shared yet.

A sizable expansion for a growing cozy sim

Hello Kitty Island Adventure has leaned into its mix of relaxed gameplay and structured progression since launch. City Town builds on that by adding more quests, systems, and customization options, rather than changing the core formula.

If you’re already playing, this adds a significant chunk of content. If not, it continues to position the game as one of the bigger entries in the cozy sim space.
