Square Enix has revealed new details for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, confirming the action RPG will launch on June 18, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Developed by Claytechworks in collaboration with Square Enix’s Team Asano, the game blends a time-spanning narrative with classic action RPG systems, placing players on a journey spanning a thousand years.
A Story Across Four Ages
At the heart of the game is a sweeping narrative in which Elliot and his companion, Faie, travel through the Doorway of Time to lift a curse placed on Princess Heuria.
Players will explore multiple eras, including the Age of Safekeeping, the Age of Reconstruction, the Age of Magic, and the Age of Budding, each representing different stages of civilization.
As Elliot journeys further into the past, each age introduces new threats, characters, and challenges, all tied together by a looming force that spans generations.
A World in Ruin and Rebirth
One of the key settings highlighted is the Age of Reconstruction, a bleak era where humanity struggles to survive amid the ruins of a once-thriving world.
Here, players will encounter characters such as Heurich, an adventurer searching for a cure for his childhood friend, and Diona, whose illness reflects the world’s fragile state. These personal stories are woven into the larger narrative, grounding the time-traveling adventure in emotional stakes.
Classic Action RPG Systems with Modern Twists
Gameplay in The Adventures of Elliot emphasizes a mix of combat, exploration, and progression systems. Players can equip a variety of accessories that grant unique bonuses, tailoring their approach depending on enemies and environments.
The game also features quests spread across each era, ranging from combat challenges to item collection, with some becoming missable depending on story progression, encouraging players to engage deeply with each timeline.
Additional systems include Shrines of Life, which test players with combat and puzzle challenges, and a bonus drop mechanic that rewards skillful play by increasing loot gained from consecutive enemy defeats.
Exploration, Rewards, and Side Activities
Beyond the main story, players can take part in side activities like cat collecting, where discovering and caring for cats across different eras unlocks useful rewards and adds a lighter layer to the adventure.
These diversions, alongside character-driven quests and exploration, help flesh out the world of Philabieldia, making each era feel distinct and alive.
Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Square Enix will offer a Collector’s Edition through its online store, including the base game, digital deluxe content, a themed tabletop clock, and the original soundtrack.
Players who pre-order will receive the Elliot’s Departure Pack, featuring exclusive accessories and items designed to boost early progression.
