Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina Announced for Early 2027 Release

Aniplex has announced Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, the next entry in the 2D fighting game series, during EVO Japan 2026. The game is set to launch in early 2027 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

The reveal included a teaser trailer and preview artwork from character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

 

An Updated Take on Type Lumina

Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is an updated version of Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which launched in 2021. The new release will feature refined battle mechanics, new characters, 2D battle animations, and a new story written by Kinoko Nasu of Type-Moon.

The Melty Blood series is based in the world of Tsukihime, with Twi-Lumina continuing to draw from Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-.

Launching in Early 2027

Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina will support 1-2 players with online play. It will include text support for Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, with Japanese voice acting.
