Tripwire Presents and BEF Games have released the free From the Streets update for The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire on PC via Steam Early Access. The update expands the open-world action-simulation and management game into a broader sandbox, moving it beyond its earlier nightclub-focused structure.
A new trailer, free playable demo, and limited-time 20% discount are also available from May 8 through May 15.
Night City’s Criminal Systems Expand
The update adds four new starting scenarios: From Nothing, Thief, Dealer, and Club Owner. Players can now shape their rise through Night City’s criminal underworld in different ways from the start.
Police systems have also been expanded. Officers now patrol, detect crimes in real time, and respond based on the severity of the crime. Arrested players can pay a fine, wait out a sentence, or complete community service, while killing an officer triggers heavier patrols and a shoot-on-sight wanted state.
Side Hustles, Warehouses, and Vehicles
From the Streets adds new side activities, including taxi driving, newspaper jobs, club doorman work, and running a hot dog cart while dealing with select customers.
The update also expands warehouse management for large-scale drug production. Players can upgrade warehouses by adding more rooms and stations, but poor conditions can cause workers to fall ill.
Vehicles now play a larger role, too. Players can steal, repair, customize, and use cars in combat or illegal street races, though damage can permanently destroy them.
Combat and Presentation Updates
Players can now carry a pistol, rifle, and melee weapon at the same time. Weapons degrade with use and can be repaired at crafting tables.
The update also refines the minimap, adds rival faction tracking, and introduces 22 new songs, bringing the game to 34 original tracks across three new in-game radio stations.
