Frogwares has released an extensive new gameplay trailer for The Sinking City 2, giving players a closer look at the studio’s survival horror sequel ahead of its Summer 2026 launch. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer highlights exploration, combat, resource management, and the flooded streets of Arkham, as well as new glimpses into the game’s Lovecraftian story.
A New Horror Story in Arkham
The Sinking City 2 is set in a 1920s version of Arkham, where a supernatural flood has left the city in ruins. Players take on the role of Calvin Rafferty, an occult adventurer trying to save his girlfriend, Faye, after a failed dreaming ritual leaves her trapped in a mysterious sleep.
As Calvin searches the drowned city, he encounters the Slither, otherworldly creatures that twist the dead into hostile puppets.
Survival Horror Takes the Lead
Frogwares says the sequel moves the series further into survival horror, with a greater focus on combat, exploration, and atmosphere. Players will use 1920s-inspired firearms and melee weapons while managing limited resources and inventory space.
Exploration will take place on foot and by boat, across flooded markets, decaying mansions, abandoned hospitals, and other ruined locations.
Investigation Still Has a Role
While The Sinking City 2 puts horror first, Frogwares is keeping investigative elements as an optional layer. Players can explore the environment more deeply, solve cases and puzzles, and uncover secrets, upgrades, and lore.
The Sinking City 2 launches in Summer 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
