Nexon has revealed Fareidolia as the official title for Project RX, the upcoming anime-style game from IO division, the studio behind Blue Archive.
The game will debut its first playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17 through September 21 at Makuhari Messe.
A New Life in Anima City
Fareidolia takes place in Anima City, a place that resembles Earth but feels slightly different.
Players serve as director of the Anima City Restoration Center while also leading Tasogare Hall, the center’s office. From there, they live alongside girls known as Mates and handle problems across the city.
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 for 3D visuals, character scenes, daily-life moments, and battles.
Meet the Mates
Nexon also shared early details on several characters.
Minieh is a cheerful explorer chasing the ultimate adventure. Ohana is an expressionless self-proclaimed genius who spends her talents on mischief. Shami is a cat-eared girl with bad luck, money problems, and a love for idol shows. Elevator Girl operates the elevator at Tasogare Hall and remains one of the game’s more mysterious figures.
First Playable Demo at TGS 2026
Fareidolia will be playable at the Nexon booth in Hall 7-C04 during Tokyo Game Show 2026.
The booth will recreate Tasogare Hall, letting attendees see the setting in person and meet Minieh, Ohana, Shami, and Elevator Girl. The trial-play corner will give visitors the first hands-on time with Fareidolia before release.
Booth Rewards and Mini-Game
The TGS booth will also include a rock-paper-scissors mini-game where attendees face their favorite character on screen.
Visitors can earn event rewards, including an A4 clear file, an original cooling towel, a large 15cm pin button, and an official Fareidolia sticker for LINE friend registrants.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs September 17 through September 21, with public days from September 19 through September 21.
