Devolver Digital has announced that Serious Sam: Shatterverse will launch on August 31 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Developed by Behaviour Interactive, the studio behind Dead by Daylight, Shatterverse brings co-op roguelite structure to Serious Sam’s loud, frantic FPS formula. A Steam playtest is live now for players who want to try it before launch.
Sams Across the Multiverse
Serious Sam: Shatterverse centers on Mental fracturing the walls between universes.
With reality broken, multiple versions of Sam must team up to repair the Shatterverse, finish battles other Sams could not, and take down five lieutenants serving Mental.
Co-Op Roguelite Shooting
The game keeps the series’ run-and-gun FPS chaos, with large arenas, heavy enemy pressure, and plenty of backpedaling under fire.
Runs will shift through hand-crafted arenas with procedural changes, hidden portals, unstable anomalies, and risky opportunities that can either power up a run or end it fast.
Old Guns, New Toys
Players can expect a mix of classic Serious Sam weapons and new tools pulled from the Shatterverse.
Progression includes modifiers, upgrades, and permanent additions that expand future runs. Enemy hordes will include returning Serious Sam foes and new monsters under Mental’s control.
