Marvelous has revealed Eternal Anima, a new time-travel RPG launching worldwide on March 4, 2027.
The game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
A New RPG From Genre Veterans
Eternal Anima was first teased in 2023 under the working title Project Life is RPG.
Marvelous is developing the new IP with a team that includes director Katsuhisa Higuchi, story concept writer Keisuke Makino, and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.
Marvelous USA will publish the game in North America, while Marvelous Europe will handle Europe and Australia.
Wade Fights for the Present
In the kingdom of Urvis Ael, hoping for a better future is treated as a capital offense.
After Wade questions that belief, he is forced on the run and pulled into a time-spanning quest. To save the present, he must travel into the past, help civilizations survive disaster, and piece together the truth behind a lost history.
Psychometry and Future Sight
Wade can use Psychometry to read memories held within objects.
Those memories let him inherit Abilities and Classes tied to heroes from the past, giving players different ways to shape party strategy.
Combat also uses Future Sight, which lets players predict enemy actions and see possible turn outcomes. With the right commands, players can delay, counter, or cancel enemy moves before they happen.
Legacy Across Generations
Eternal Anima centers on connections between ancestors and descendants.
Players will travel across continents, meet allies from different eras, and see how choices made in the past affect the present. The game aims to channel late ’90s and early 2000s JRPGs while using modern visuals and systems.
Physical Editions Planned
Physical pre-orders will open soon through participating retailers and the Marvelous USA online store.
The standard physical edition will cost $49.99 on PlayStation 5 and $59.99 on Nintendo Switch 2, with the Switch 2 version fully on cartridge.
A physical Limited Edition will include the game, a two-disc soundtrack, nine character art cards with a display stand, and an art book. It will cost $79.99 on PlayStation 5 and $89.99 on Nintendo Switch 2.
Digital edition details will be shared later.
