Onyx: The Dark Grip Announced as Switch 2 Exclusive

Broken Mirror Games has revealed Onyx: The Dark Grip, an original dark adventure launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

The game is built from the ground up for handheld play, using the Switch 2’s screen, motion controls, and microphone as core survival tools.

The Vessel and the God

Onyx: The Dark Grip puts players in control of two sides of the same struggle.

The Vessel is an ordinary man trying to survive in an isolated town trapped in endless winter. The God is the mysterious entity possessing him, able to interfere with reality when human limits get in the way.

Survival comes from knowing when to act as The Vessel and when to step in as The God.

Switch 2 Hardware Drives Survival

Broken Mirror Games is designing Onyx: The Dark Grip around Nintendo Switch 2 handheld mode.

Players can touch the screen to manipulate objects, tilt the system to use The God’s power, and blow into the microphone to warm The Vessel before the cold takes him.

The team says these interactions are not side activities. They shape how players protect The Vessel and progress through the game.

A Frozen Town Full of Threats

As The Vessel, players explore a bleak town, manage limited resources, fight to stay alive, and face dangers hidden under the snow.

As The God, players can alter situations from beyond normal human reach, turning the console itself into a tool for intervention.
