Saw: Genesis Enters Closed Alpha Ahead of Gamescom Showcase

Bloober Team has announced that Saw: Genesis will enter Closed Alpha testing on July 16, giving selected players an early look at the 3v1 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game ahead of its Gamescom showcase.

The test follows the game’s official reveal at Summer Game Fest and marks the start of a larger development program, with more playtests planned before Early Access.

Escape the Judge’s Traps

Saw: Genesis is developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios in collaboration with Lionsgate.

Matches put three players in the role of the Accused, who must work together to escape a maze of traps. A fourth player becomes the Judge, controlling the deadly setup and forcing the Accused into moral choices.

The game takes place in the grim aftermath of World War I and uses procedurally generated maps to keep matches unpredictable.

Closed Alpha Details

The Closed Alpha uses a survey-based selection process to bring in a broad testing group. The rollout began July 10, with Steam keys and server access sent out in phases after onboarding.

Players can form parties of up to three Accused, while matchmaking fills the lobby with a Judge.

Feedback Before Gamescom

Bloober Team says feedback from the Closed Alpha will help refine multiplayer balance, technical performance, core mechanics, and replay value.

Future testing phases will expand in size and access as SAW: Genesis moves toward Early Access.

Saw: Genesis will be shown at Gamescom, with more details expected around the event.
