Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey launches December 8, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Panache Digital Games and Fictions announced the release during the Galaxies Autumn Showcase, confirming free upgrades for existing PS4 and Xbox One owners.
The new versions add documentary-style narration, a photo mode, and quality-of-life improvements. Those additions will also come to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Free Upgrades for PS4 and Xbox One Owners
If you own Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll receive the corresponding PS5 or Xbox Series X|S upgrade at no additional cost.
Panache says the game will be fully optimized for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch 2 release also marks its first appearance on a Nintendo platform.
