Chronicles: Medieval has released a new developer diary exploring its soundtrack and sound design. Raw Power Games’ fifth episode features composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen and senior audio designer Troels Jørgensen discussing period instruments and battle audio that scales with your army size.
The video also introduces four work-in-progress tracks and a community naming opportunity that could put a player into the game as an NPC.
Period Instruments and Battles That Grow With Your Army
Haugen, whose credits include Dune: Awakening, Conan Exiles, and Lords of the Fallen, discusses the musical approach behind the medieval setting.
Jørgensen, previously credited on Deep Rock Galactic, explores the game’s sound design, including how combat audio responds to the scale of your forces.
Help Name a Track and Become an NPC
The soundtrack preview includes Empire Autumn, France Winter, Character Generation, and Empire Battle Theme.
Raw Power Games will also run a track-naming poll through its official Discord. The person who submits the winning title suggestion will appear as an in-game NPC.
The announcement does not specify the submission deadline or which track will receive the community-selected name.
Build Your Reputation Across Medieval Europe
Chronicles: Medieval is a historically grounded sandbox set across the British Isles, France, and the Holy Roman Empire.
You’ll develop a character from humble beginnings, recruit and train an army, form alliances, and build a reputation. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 alongside Raw Power Games’ proprietary Asgard technology.
