EverQuest Legends is adding Castle Nektropos, a new outdoor zone, and the playable Half Dark Elf race in its October 22, 2026, update. Daybreak Games’ latest release also introduces a hidden starting city and a Halloween event running through November 3.
The update revisits a location familiar to EverQuest II players, exploring its history roughly five centuries before the cursed ruin seen in that game.
Investigate the Fall of the Everling Household
The story begins after an abused servant steals Lord Rikantus Everling’s enchanted sword and kills his seven daughters. Rikantus descends into madness and begins raising the dead, prompting his surviving son, Lord Ollix Everling, to seek your help putting the household to rest.
The update includes three connected locations:
- Lake Nerius: An outdoor zone leading toward the castle, with difficulty increasing as you approach the canyon below.
- Nektropos Castle: An instanced group dungeon featuring roughly 15 boss encounters and enemies ranging from level 46 to 65.
- Nektropos Undercroft: A hidden city beneath the castle, unknown to the Everlings above.
The Undercroft also serves as the starting city for the new Half Dark Elf race.
Halloween Event Offers a Free Werewolf Pet Illusion
From October 22 through November 3, you can claim a free Werewolf pet illusion through the in-game shop.
A Half Dark Elf-themed quest in Lake Nerius also rewards a choice of pet illusion. Additional Marketplace options include an Undead Frog, Scarecrow, Vampire Bat, Spectre, Gelatinous Cube, Zombie, Mummy, and three Skeleton variants.
