Daybreak Game Company and Game Jawn have announced that EverQuest Legends will launch on July 28, with pre-orders available now through the game’s official website.
Players who pre-order will receive access to an exclusive beta period beginning July 1 and running through July 21. Pre-order customers can also reserve their character names ahead of launch and receive the optional in-game title, “The Legend.”
A New Take on Classic EverQuest
EverQuest Legends is a reimagined version of the original MMORPG designed to make the experience more approachable for modern players.
While the game still supports cooperative play, it has been built with casual and solo adventurers in mind. Players can experience the full game on their own, or join groups of up to four players and raids of up to eight participants.
New Systems for Modern Players
To support its updated design philosophy, EverQuest Legends introduces several new progression systems.
Players will be able to multiclass their characters, customize and level gear, and experiment with new abilities that allow for more flexible character builds. These additions aim to give players more control over how they approach combat and progression.
Returning to Norrath
Despite the gameplay updates, EverQuest Legends retains much of what made the original release memorable.
The game features the classic art style, music, and visual presentation from the 1999 version of EverQuest. At launch, players will be able to explore the continents of Antonica, Faydwer, and Odus while choosing from all playable races found in the original game.
The developers also promise additional surprises for longtime veterans and newcomers discovering Norrath for the first time.
Pricing and Subscription Details
The EverQuest Legends base game will cost $19.99 and include one month of game time.
Following the included month, players will need an active subscription priced at $9.99 per month to continue playing. According to the developers, EverQuest Legends will operate as a live service title with ongoing content updates, DLC, and future expansions.
Players will be able to cancel their subscriptions at any time through their online account management tools.
