Fat Goblins is bringing hat theft, princess rescues, and cannibalistic combat to Steam on November 12, 2026. Solo developer Koda Games has announced the game’s 1.0 release date, with up to 32 players fighting in 16v16 matches.
Described as a spiritual successor to Fat Princess, the game combines team-based capture-the-flag action with real-time strategy, resource gathering, and castle defenses.
Steal Hats and Rescue Your Princess
Your goblin army must rescue its princess from the opposing fortress while capturing the enemy’s royalty and bringing her back to your castle.
Classes depend on the hats you wear. Picking up a different hat during battle lets you switch roles on the spot, with warriors, mages, and archers among your options.
Food also factors into the fight. Feeding meat to the enemy princess makes her harder to carry, slowing the opposing team’s rescue efforts. Given the game’s cannibalistic goblins, the menu comes with some unpleasant implications.
Build Defenses or Raise an Undead Army
Storming the enemy castle is only part of the assignment. You’ll chop trees for wood, build barracks, upgrade your fortress, and position defenses such as catapults to hold off attackers.
Necromancer mode adds another approach: resurrecting fallen goblins to create an undead army. Different modes change how you build your forces and pursue victory.
Fat Goblins launches on Steam on November 12. You can follow development updates on the game’s official X account.
