Game Freak and publisher Fictions have revealed new details for Beast of Reincarnation, the upcoming action RPG launching August 4, 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows.
The game will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series X|S and Windows. Physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be available at launch.
Emma and Koo’s Journey
Set in post-apocalyptic Japan, Beast of Reincarnation follows Emma, an outcast known as a Blightborn who has lost her memories and emotions.
She is joined by Koo, a loyal canine companion who should be her enemy. Together, they travel through a harsh and changing world consumed by blight, where forests can suddenly rise from the wasteland and survival depends on the bond between the two.
Game Director Kota Furushima said the story follows Emma as she tries to understand what emotions truly are while growing closer to Koo.
Combat Built Around Two Companions
Beast of Reincarnation blends real-time sword combat with companion-based strategy.
Players control Emma’s sword attacks while also commanding Koo’s techniques in battle. Furushima said the team designed the system around the synergy between the two characters, combining action with tactical decision-making.
As Emma and Koo’s bond deepens, new powers begin to emerge.
Japanese Voice Cast Revealed
Game Freak also revealed the first wave of Japanese voice talent.
Yui Ishikawa will voice Emma, leading a cast that also includes Miyuki Satou, Akio Otsuka, Sumire Morohoshi, Yu Kobayashi, Akira Ishida, Satoshi Mikami, Rina Satoh, and Tetsuo Kanao.

Beast of Reincarnation launches August 4, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows.
