ByteRockers Games has announced a new publishing partnership with Elysium Games to bring Neo Berlin 2087 to players. The cyberpunk detective thriller also received a new sneak peek at a Berlin planetarium event centered on indie games, science, and a very large game screen.
The reveal took place at Zeiss-Großplanetarium, where ByteRockers projected a live play session of its space game Exovia across the planetarium dome. The publisher skipped an official Guinness World Records attempt and put the money toward the event instead, while CEO Maik appeared in a working spacesuit.
A Clearer Look at Neo Berlin 2087
Alongside the publishing announcement, ByteRockers Games and Elysium Games used the event to clarify what Neo Berlin 2087 is aiming to be.
The game is a focused cyberpunk detective thriller, not a massive sandbox RPG. It will feature linear, handcrafted levels built around a fixed suspense story, with dialogue choices and tactical playstyle options.
Players will be able to switch between first- and third-person views, choosing between stealth and direct combat depending on the situation.
Indie Scope, Cinematic Style
The teams said the new partnership marks a reset for how Neo Berlin 2087 will be discussed. Earlier cinematic trailers led some players to expect a larger AAA-style project, but the developers are now leaning into the game’s indie scale.
The goal is a polished narrative thriller with atmosphere, tension, and player choice, rather than a huge open-ended game.
More ByteRockers Announcements
ByteRockers Games also announced two more projects during the event.
Rosaby Roots is the next game from Let Them Trade developer Spaceflower, described as a cozy plant shop simulator. Lavender Fields is a new horror project from Alchemical Works, now signed to the ByteRockers publishing lineup.
The publisher also launched a Steam sale running from July 15-29, with discounts across its released games.
