Wizards of the Coast and Invoke Studios have revealed the first gameplay for Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, an original third-person single-player action-adventure game set for release in 2027.
The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Kaatri Makes a Pact
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons stars Kaatri, a veteran weapons master who makes a pact to wield otherworldly magic against dark powers.
Tricia Helfer voices Kaatri, known for Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer. The gameplay reveal also introduces Tasha, played by Maggie Robertson, who serves as Kaatri’s patron and source of magic.
Magic Shapes Combat and Exploration
The reveal shows how Kaatri uses magic to read and alter the space around her.
Spells can open paths during exploration, while combat mixes magic and melee attacks. Kaatri can use enemy placement, the environment, and even weather as tactical openings before closing in with weapon strikes.
Raw Magic and Darkon
Tasha teaches Kaatri to sense Raw Magic, a hidden force found throughout Darkon.
That magic lets Kaatri expand and change her abilities, giving players new ways to handle puzzles, movement, and fights as they progress.
