Publisher Right Mind and developer CnD Games have revealed After-State: WoLong, a surreal deduction adventure for PC that casts Zhuge Liang opposite Sherlock Holmes in a murder mystery set in the afterlife.
The game combines top-down crime-scene investigation, psychological interrogation, and deduction battles as Zhuge Liang becomes trapped inside a snowbound mountain lodge during the Underworld Olympics.
Zhuge Liang Meets Sherlock Holmes
Players take the role of Zhuge Liang, the famed Chinese strategist, as a string of murders begins inside an isolated lodge.
The case involves supernatural tricks, elaborate setups, and a cast caught inside a closed-circle mystery.
Sherlock Holmes serves as Zhuge Liang’s intellectual rival, and the two compete to interpret evidence and reach the right conclusions.
Investigate Crime Scenes From Above
After-State: WoLong uses a top-down investigation system that lets players examine crime scenes across overhead maps.
Evidence gathered during these sections feeds into later deductions and conversations as players attempt to reconstruct what happened.
Break Testimonies With the Yin-Yang System
Zhuge Liang’s Yin-Yang System centers on finding inconsistencies in testimony.
Players can approach deductions from different angles, mixing confirmed information with bluffs to pressure suspects and break through their defenses.
Deduction Duels against Holmes raise the stakes further. Right Mind says mistakes during these confrontations can cost players the entire match.
Part of Right Mind’s New Publishing Direction
After-State: WoLong is one of the upcoming titles from Right Mind, a publishing label that says it wants to prioritize character-driven games built around emotional impact.
The company describes itself as a “right-brain publisher,” using that phrase as a creative philosophy centered on emotion, intuition, and sensory experiences rather than as a scientific claim about how the brain works.
Right Mind’s current catalog also includes Eastern Era, Dread Flats, and Trials of Innocence.
After-State: WoLong is currently in development for PC and can be wishlisted on Steam. A release date has not been announced.
