BrokenLore: Ascend Launches January 7 With Tokyo Tower Horror Climb

BrokenLore: Ascend turns a nighttime climb into a fight for survival on January 7, 2027. Serafini Productions and Soft Source have announced the first-person psychological horror game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The game features an officially licensed recreation of Tokyo Tower, reimagined as the cursed Elysium Tower. Exposed ledges are only part of the problem: a long-necked yōkai is hunting you across its steel beams.

A Rooftop Stunt Goes Wrong

BrokenLore: Ascend follows Ren and Yui, rooftop climbers who chase views and likes through their channel, Skylimit. Hoping to outdo their previous stunts, they sneak into Elysium Tower for a forbidden climb after dark.

Halfway up, the pursuit of attention becomes a struggle to stay alive. The story ties their physical danger to the online fame they have built their identities around.

Climb Carefully and Hide From the Rokurokubi

First-person free climbing has you gripping ledges and beams high above the city. Wind, darkness, and the drop below make each move a risk.

You’ll also need to avoid the Rokurokubi, a figure from Japanese folklore who appears to be an ordinary woman until her neck stretches and twists like a snake.

Stealth means staying out of her sight as you move through the tower’s exposed structure. With limited room to escape, choosing your next handhold could be as important as knowing when to hide.

A Standalone Chapter in the BrokenLore Series

BrokenLore: Ascend tells a standalone story while adding connections to the wider series. The announcement also follows last week’s reveal of BrokenLore: Miki-Chan, another upcoming chapter.

BrokenLore: Ascend launches January 7, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
