There Are No Ghosts at the Grand has released an expanded Steam Next Fest demo featuring three missions from its opening chapter. Developer Friday Sundae’s first-person adventure combines renovation, ghost hunting, Lovecraftian mysteries, and musical performances ahead of its December 2026 Early Access launch.
Chapter 1 will arrive on Steam and Xbox PC with 15 story missions and more than eight hours of gameplay. Chapters 2 and 3 are planned for 2027.
Clean an Arcade and Investigate an Underground Bunker
The demo takes you through an autumn clean-up at a retro seaside arcade, renovation work and disputes in botanical gardens, and a supernatural mystery inside an island bunker.
You’ll powerwash, renovate, explore, and solve puzzles while meeting the town’s eccentric residents. Ghost-hunting power tools and original songs accompany the increasingly strange assignments.
Friday Sundae describes this as its biggest demo yet, offering a broader introduction to the activities and mysteries that make up Chapter 1.
Alex Brightman and Billy Boyd Lead the Musical Cast
A new trailer features narration from Alex Brightman as player character Chris David and Billy Boyd as MacBrushy, a talking power tool.
The wider cast includes Marcia Richards and Josh Waters Rudge of The Skints, Ben Starr, and Elsie Lovelock. Brightman describes the game as bringing musical theatre’s energy into a first-person adventure, with dialogue choices shaping Chris’s responses.
Chapter 1 Arrives in December
Each of Chapter 1’s 15 episodic missions tells a story within the larger mystery and often ends on a cliffhanger.
The game has reached 185,000 Steam wishlists, according to Friday Sundae, and has won the Tribeca Games Award and ChinaJoy’s Music Award.
There Are No Ghosts at the Grand enters Early Access on PC this December. You can download the free Steam demo and wishlist the game now.
