Where the Seeds Fall is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam for $9.99. Developed by CygamesEdge and Zereo, the action-adventure is the first release under Cygames’ new CygamesEdge publishing brand.
The game follows a grieving man and a mysterious child as they descend a gigantic tree, crossing unstable branches and crumbling platforms on their way toward the surface. Cygames has also released the opening movie, introducing the story and its setting.
Escort the Fell Child Beneath the Branches
After a catastrophe called Blight, humanity has retreated into homes built on the branches of the World Tree. The protagonist, a man who has lost everything, encounters a “Fell Child”—someone others regard as an omen of disaster.
Her resemblance to his lost daughter prompts him to act against orders and escort her toward the surface. That decision sets the pair on a downward route through the tree, with the child’s reputation and the man’s grief forming the basis of their partnership.
The opening movie introduces those circumstances before players take control. The main story follows their descent, placing the personal stakes of protecting the child alongside the route’s physical dangers.
Find Steady Ground During a Dangerous Descent
Movement centers on making your way down the World Tree while keeping the pair safe. Branches offer precarious footing, platforms crumble, and strong winds complicate the search for a secure landing.
You’ll need to judge where to move next and respond to changing conditions rather than assume the ground beneath you will hold. The emphasis on descent gives the platforming a clear direction: every stretch brings you closer to the surface, but reaching it requires getting through the obstacles below.
Higher-Difficulty Maps and Time Trials Follow the Story
Completing the main story opens further challenges through higher-difficulty maps and time trials. These let players return to the game’s movement systems after finishing the narrative.
