The Next Zelda: New Clues

While on my travels around YouTube, I saw a new video from earthbounding….

What we learn:

–In an “Iwata Asks” segement some time ago, Iwata said he was “pressured over” the graphics of Monster Hunter 3. This implies that New Zelda Wii will have graphics on par with, if not better than, Monster Hunter 3
–Monster Hunter 3 bears a scary resemblence to Twilight Princess in both graphics and gameplay. The graphics can be explained by the fact that Moster Hunter 3 was originally meant for the PS3, but budget issues moved it to the Wii. That means that New Zelda Wii will possibly have better or equal graphics than that game, as I said before.
–However, there is still the risk of bugs, lag and loading times
–It is possible New Zelda Wii could hit North America sometime next year
–On a JustinTV podcast, the game actually froze when some Japanese gamers tried to play it–so Nintendo needs to be careful about the graphics.
–Iwata has also said that he feels the E3 presentation wasn’t as good as it could have been–a hint that he really wanted to show New Zelda Wii this year
–New Zelda Wii wasn’t shown last year because it was still in its early stages at that time, and Nintendo got a lot of flack for the awful presentation
–Likewise, some fans felt gypped when Link didn’t appear this year, and Nintendo got flack for it again. However, Nintendo felt disappointed about this year too…so is Link going to appear next year?
–IGN claims that New Zelda Wii is coming next year, but this is highly unlikely. Iwata has said the Wii’s successor is in development, but its release day isn’t known as of yet.
–So the most likely scenario (assuming there are no delays) is the trailer being shown at E3 next year, with a release later on in 2010. If we account for delays, the most realistic release day would actually be sometime in 2011.
–We can also assume that 2011 is the end of the Wii’s lifespan (unless sales influence an extension)
–If this is true, New Zelda Wii could be released on the Wii and New Console, just as Twilight Princess was released on the GameCube and Wii. However, it has been confirmed that this game will be on the Wii for sure
–New Zelda Wii will have Wii Motion Plus support–it is not known as to whether or not it will be required to play
–A patent displaying an inflateable seat with a Wiimote pocket has surfaced–it would be used to simulate riding something (such as horses), plus it has a raised bar for both balance and using something (eg. a sword) Does that mean we could be riding Epona this way?
