Nintendo Switch 2 Revealed, Release Window Set

Nintendo has finally given fans their first look at the successor to the Nintendo Switch console, dubbed the Nintendo Switch 2.

Details on the console were given, including a release date window for the successor. The Nintendo Switch 2 will release this year in 2025, with a more in-depth presentation on the console set to take place on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

The system will be able to play Nintendo Switch 2 games as well as physical and digital versions of original Switch titles. The company noted that certain Switch games will not be compatible with the Switch 2, though details on that will be provided at a later date on the official website.

When can players try out the Nintendo Switch 2?

Nintendo will also be holding a series of events where players will be able to go hands-on with the successor prior to launch. The full list of cities and dates is as follows:

  • Dallas, April 25-27, 2025
  • Toronto, April 25-27, 2025

Europe:

  • Paris, April 4-6, 2025
