Militsioner’s Surreal Immersive Sim Gets New Gameplay Trailer

Publisher Critical Reflex (Buckshot Roulette, Mouthwashing) is teaming up with indie developer Tallboys to bring the Kafka-meets-Kojima immersive sim Militsioner to life. A new extended trailer gives us a closer look at the absurdly tense—yet oddly charming—first-person escape sim, where your every move is monitored by a massive, ever-present Giant Policeman.

In Militsioner, you’re an average nobody who wakes up accused of a crime you didn’t commit. Your only goal? Get the hell out of the city… without attracting the attention of the skyscraper-sized cop watching your every move.

Escape Under the Giant’s Gaze

Militsioner is shaping up to be a truly unique immersive sim. There’s no one correct path to freedom—you’ll sneak, lie, bribe, flirt, and maybe even go on a date with the Giant himself.

Here’s what the latest trailer shows off:

Non-Linear Action

Every encounter is a sandbox. You can sneak, steal, run, talk, or manipulate your way through problems. Will you make friends or burn bridges?

Tamagotchi-Style Relationships

Every NPC—including the Giant—has moods, routines, and personal lives. Influence them with conversation, flattery, or gifts. Just try not to piss off the one whose head touches the clouds.

A Dynamic City That’s Always Changing

Characters have schedules. The weather shifts. Water floods new routes. Even an eclipse changes how the world behaves. Exploration isn’t just encouraged—it’s necessary.

You can even mess with the time of day to uncover secrets or trigger new events. The city’s alive, and it’s not always on your side.

Wishlist Militsioner Now

Militsioner is available to wishlist on Steam and is shaping up to be one of the most surreal takes on the immersive sim genre in years. Think Papers, Please meets Death Stranding, but with a deeply suspicious Godzilla-sized cop looming overhead.

Stay up to date by following Tallboys, Critical Reflex, and jumping into the CR Discord to discuss surveillance, betrayal, and whether dating the Giant is a good idea.
