Avoid everyone at all costs in this charmingly awkward narrative adventure—now with a free demo on Steam.
Developer Quail Button braved a little social anxiety of their own this week to host a developer livestream for A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe, one of the standout titles featured at LudoNarraCon 2025. The digital narrative games festival, hosted on Steam, gave attendees a closer look at the quirky stealth-puzzle adventure—and yes, there’s a free demo available now.
Set in Friendly City—the most aggressively friendly place on Earth—you play as Giraffe, a lanky loner who suffers from a catastrophic case of social anxiety. Talk to anyone, and your head literally explodes. Unfortunately for Giraffe, his fellow citizens are a talkative bunch. To get through the week unscathed, you’ll need to help him run errands and solve everyday problems while avoiding all social interaction like the plague.
Demo Highlights:
- Stealth your way through public transport
- Secure an ID photo without engaging a single soul
- Brave the grocery store for your favorite drink
- Retrieve your mail without making small talk
Think of Hitman by way of Looney Tunes, except the only thing you’re assassinating is conversation. The game’s hand-drawn, 1950s cartoon-inspired visuals give it a nostalgic yet unique aesthetic and a lo-fi soundtrack that keeps your nerves in check as you sneak around chatty neighbors.
Quail Button’s live showcase dives into the inspirations behind Giraffe’s introverted misadventures, how the game mixes stealth tension with point-and-click absurdity, and why sometimes the best way to deal with people… is to not.
If you’ve ever noped out of a phone call or ducked into another aisle to avoid a coworker at the store, A Week in the Life of Asocial Giraffe might hit a little too close to home—in the best way.
