Build A Rocket Boy, the new studio from former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies, is pulling back the curtain on MindsEye—a cinematic narrative action-thriller set to launch June 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Alongside a brand-new trailer, the studio revealed sweeping details on the game’s core experience, from its explosive story campaign to a boundary-pushing Game Creation System that promises to evolve MindsEye far beyond its release.
A Cinematic Campaign in a Future on the Brink
Set in the dystopian metropolis of Redrock, MindsEye places players in the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier caught in a deadly conspiracy involving rogue AI, corrupted corporations, and a mysterious neural implant that’s fracturing his memories. The story unfolds in a tight, linear campaign built in Unreal Engine 5, with a visual style and pacing influenced by Benzies’ Rockstar legacy.
The trailer showcases MindsEye’s blend of cinematic storytelling, visceral combat, and high-octane driving sequences, underscoring why it’s shaping up to be one of 2025’s most ambitious titles.
Build Your Own Adventures with the Game Creation System
More than just a narrative-driven game, MindsEye ships with Build A Rocket Boy’s proprietary Game Creation System—the same tool the dev team uses to create in-game content. This system gives players full creative control to design their missions, minigames, and scenarios using the game’s assets.
Whether you’re crafting stealth missions, explosive chase sequences, or entirely new genres, the Game Creation System is pitched as accessible to creators of all skill levels. It also forms the backbone of MindsEye’s live content model, which will see monthly premium content drops, developed both by the studio and the player community.
Premium Content and Editions
MindsEye will retail at $59.99, a rare move in today’s AAA market. A Deluxe Edition is also available and includes a Premium Pass and exclusive bonuses like the “Exotic Pack.” All pre-orders include a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
Benzies emphasizes the long-term vision: “MindsEye is an endless adventure,” he says. “We’re not just telling a story—we’re giving players the tools to tell their own.“
