The skies of Ragnarok just got a lot more chaotic. Independent developer Noodle Cat Games debuted a new trailer for their Norse-inspired co-op action RPG Cloudheim during IGN Live, offering a fresh look at the game’s physics-heavy combat, tactile crafting, and slapstick teamwork. Alongside the reveal, the studio announced that open beta sign-ups are now live, and Cloudheim has surpassed 100,000 Steam wishlists ahead of its 2025 launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
A Co-Op Playground in the Sky
In Cloudheim, players take on the role of survivors aboard Odin Shell, a massive flying turtle navigating the ruins of a post-Ragnarok world. With up to four-player co-op (or solo play), you’ll forge weapons, run a skybound shop, and physically interact with the world and each other—often with hilarious results.
Forget menus—want to craft a sword? Smelt it yourself. Want to launch a friend into combat? Use a giant mushroom pad. Teamwork isn’t optional—it’s half the fun, especially when the game rewards your slapstick efforts with functional chaos.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Chaotic, Physics-Based Combat
Kick, juggle, and improvise with real-time action and momentum-based mayhem. Every battle is a playground of absurdity and strategy. - Hands-On Crafting and Base-Building
Use tactile mechanics to forge weapons, manage materials, and keep your sky-shop stocked for wandering customers. - Expressive Multiplayer
Up to four players can team up online, with a focus on unfiltered co-op play—where communication, creativity, and a bit of chaos drive progress. - Build a New World—Literally
As you fight and craft, you’ll gradually rebuild civilization one floating island (or mushroom trampoline) at a time.
Cloudheim is shaping up to be a fresh, fast-paced spin on the co-op action RPG genre, blending physical comedy with real strategy in a post-apocalyptic Norse fantasy setting. If Overcooked met Valheim on a flying turtle, it might look a little like this.
