Little Nightmares III Launches October 10; VR Spinoff and Enhanced Edition Also Revealed

Bandai Namco pulled back the curtain on Little Nightmares III during a special franchise showcase, confirming that the eerie co-op adventure will launch October 10, 2025, across all major platforms. The long-awaited sequel, now developed by Supermassive Games, sees players take control of new protagonists Low and Alone as they attempt to escape the Spiral — a sinister world where delusions twist reality.

The publisher also revealed Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, launching the same day, and a surprise VR entry titled Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes. The showcase celebrates a massive milestone for the franchise, which has now sold over 20 million units since its 2017 debut.

Low & Alone Face the Carnevale

Little Nightmares III takes players to the Carnevale, a decaying funfair where danger hides behind every grotesque mask and flickering light. Using teamwork and stealth, players must guide Low and Alone through puzzles, traps, and lurking monstrosities as they piece together the mystery of the Spiral. As with previous entries, expect a heavy dose of metaphorical horror, environmental storytelling, and emotionally rich, wordless narrative.

Editions, Pre-Orders, and Early Access

Pre-orders are now live for all platforms except Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 (which will follow soon). Here’s what’s available:

  • Standard Edition
  • Digital Deluxe Edition – includes the Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass and Residents Costumes Pack
  • Collector “Mirror Edition” – adds a figurine, metal case, artbook, soundtrack (digital + physical), and stickers
  • Premium “Spiral Edition” – exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store, features a music box version of the figurine, a Nome controller/phone holder, and a double-sided coin of Low and Alone

Pre-order bonuses include the Dark Six Costume Set. Additionally, digital pre-orders unlock early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — a visually upgraded re-release of the first game with ray tracing, improved checkpointing, and gameplay assists.

More Nightmares to Come

Rounding out the announcements was Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, currently in development at Iconik Studio. This immersive spinoff aims to bring the series’ creeping dread into a new dimension, although no release window has been confirmed yet.

Bandai Namco also teased additional cross-media projects, including comic books and podcasts — a clear sign that Little Nightmares is evolving into a full-fledged horror universe.
