Les’ Copaque Production and Streamline Studios have announced that Upin & Ipin Universe, the long-awaited open-world adventure game based on the globally loved Malaysian animated series, will officially release on July 17 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch. Blending nostalgic charm with modern gameplay, Upin & Ipin Universe aims to introduce the vibrant world of Southeast Asian traditions to a global audience through interactive storytelling and exploration.
A Game That Celebrates Culture
Unveiled during the Southeast Asia Summer Showcase, Upin & Ipin Universe made a splash with its first gameplay trailer, highlighting vibrant village life, mini-games, heartfelt stories, and an art style rooted in traditional Southeast Asian aesthetics. The game features a 12+ hour story campaign designed to appeal to kids, families, and fans of the show, while also standing on its own as a cultural journey.
Players will explore scenic kampungs (villages), help locals with their daily lives, take part in traditional pastimes, and uncover magical mysteries — all while embodying the cheeky, big-hearted energy of Upin and Ipin.
A Milestone for Malaysian Game Development
The title was developed in collaboration between Les’ Copaque Production (the creators of Upin & Ipin) and Streamline Studios, a Malaysian-based developer known for supporting AAA games and championing local talent.
“Upin & Ipin Universe isn’t just a game; it’s a love letter to the vibrant culture and traditions of Southeast Asia,” said Alexander Fernandez, CEO of Streamline Media Group.

The game will also make appearances at Japan Expo in Paris and at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur on July 4, where Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh Deo, will officiate the celebration.
