Herdling Launches August 21 on Switch, PC, and Consoles with Xbox Game Pass Support

If FAR: Lone Sails and Untitled Goose Game had a majestic alpine cousin, it would be Herdling. Announced during Nintendo’s latest Indie World showcase, this emotional, wordless adventure comes from Swiss studio Okomotive and beloved indie publisher Panic. Herdling is set to launch August 21 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get access on day one.

Gather Your Courage—and Your Calicorns

In Herdling, you don’t wield a sword or fire off spells. Instead, your power comes from companionship. Players take on the role of a quiet shepherd on a journey to the summit of a mysterious mountain, leading a ragtag group of adorable antlered beasts called Calicorns. Traversing a lush but dangerous world, you’ll need to protect your herd, solve light environmental puzzles, and guide them through a series of treacherous alpine landscapes—from fog-choked forests to snowy plateaus and ancient ruins.

There’s no dialogue here, but Herdling tells a powerful story through its animation, music, and pacing. Expect emotional beats and breathtaking stampede moments as your bond with the herd grows stronger with every step.

From the Team Behind FAR

Okomotive, known for FAR: Lone Sails and FAR: Changing Tides, brings its signature blend of moody environments and minimalist storytelling to Herdling, backed by Panic—the team behind indie hits like Firewatch and Untitled Goose Game.
