Manticore Games has launched Out of Time, a new 3D multiplayer roguelike that throws players into fractured worlds where past, present, and future collide. Available now exclusively on the Epic Games Store for $24.99, the game blends MMO-inspired progression, roguelike unpredictability, and co-op action RPG systems into a chaotic adventure of infinite replayability.
Survive the Shattering in Infinitopia
The story of Out of Time begins with The Shattering, an event that fuses every era of history into Infinitopia, humanity’s final refuge. From here, players set out on raids across corrupted zones, encountering bizarre mashups like wizards battling cyborgs or shapeshifters teaming with medics to take down mutated crab monsters.
With up to 190 million gear combinations to experiment with, players can tackle the chaos solo or team up in squads of four. Party play introduces a unique tethering system, amplifying team strength across escalating difficulty modes, from Normal to the punishing Shattering setting.
Built for Infinite Replayability
Jordan Maynard, Chief Creative Officer at Manticore Games, emphasized the game’s evolving gameplay:
“What I love about Out of Time is its infinite replayability. Even as someone who has been playing this game for the last two years I am still discovering new ways to play every day – new encounters, new gear and squad combinations.”
At launch, players can explore three massive regions: the Medieval Era, Modern Era, and Wasteland Era, each with their own enemies, bosses, and chaotic events.
Post-Launch Expansions and Future Modes
Manticore Games confirmed extensive post-launch support for Out of Time. This November, the Solarpunk Era will be added for free, introducing a new region, themed gear, enemies, and bosses. Looking ahead to 2026, the game will expand to Steam and consoles, with additional features such as PvP battles and a MOBA-inspired mode.
Frederic Descamps, CEO of Manticore Games, highlighted the game’s long-term vision:
“We have built Out of Time as an infinitely expandable universe with more eras, new modes and leaderboards added regularly. We will also bring the game to more players on new platforms soon.”
