PopCap Studios has released the launch trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, a stunning modern remaster of the hit tower defense classic that kicked off one of gaming’s most enduring franchises. Launching October 23, the game revisits the quirky lawnside battles between plants and zombies now rebuilt in HD with brand-new content and surprises.
The trailer showcases the remaster’s eye-popping HD visuals, its signature mix of tactical defense and humor, and even a surprise cameo of Valve’s Headcrab Zombie, shambling into the chaos later in the game. PopCap teases even more secrets and callbacks that celebrate the franchise’s 16-year history.
New Modes, New Mayhem
Earlier this week, PopCap released a Gameplay Deep Dive trailer highlighting some of Replanted’s biggest additions, including new mini-games and modes such as Cloudy Day and Rest In Peace Mode, which remix the traditional formula with new challenges and weather effects.
Nintendo fans will also have something special to look forward to: Switch 2 players can share the fun locally using Nintendo’s GameShare feature, allowing co-op or versus play with just one copy of the game.
The Ultimate Garden Defense Returns
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted brings together the timeless strategy and personality that made the series a hit with a host of modern upgrades from improved animations and sound design to new levels and unlockable cosmetics. Whether you’re defending your lawn for the first time or returning for nostalgia-fueled fun, Replanted is the definitive way to experience PopCap’s zany zombie showdown.
The game launches October 23, 2025, for $19.99 on PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store) and console (Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One).
