Thank Goodness You’re Here! Comes to Xbox This December

Developer Coal Supper and publisher Panic have announced that their BAFTA-winning “comedy slapformer,” Thank Goodness You’re Here!, is headed to Xbox Series X|S on December 9. The game will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, letting players switch seamlessly between Xbox and PC versions.

Originally released in 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, the game’s chaotic humor, hand-drawn animation, and eccentric slice of Northern England earned it both acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. Now, Xbox players can finally join the mayhem in the ridiculous town of Barnsworth.

Award-Winning Absurdity

Thank Goodness You’re Here! has earned widespread recognition, including:

  • Seven nominations at the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards
  • Winner: Best British Game at the BAFTA Games Awards
  • Seumas McNally Grand Prize nominee at the 2025 IGF Awards
  • Nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction & Story at the 2024 DICE Awards

And according to the developers, “your mum still disapproves of it,” which may be its highest honor yet.

Explore Barnsworth and Take On Odd Jobs

The game follows a traveling salesman who arrives early for a meeting with the mayor of Barnsworth, giving him plenty of time to get sucked into the town’s increasingly bizarre requests. Players will meet colorful locals, complete questionable odd jobs, and steadily transform the town as the clock ticks toward the big meeting.

The slapformer blends side-scrolling action with top-down exploration, all animated in a vibrant hand-drawn style. With fully voiced dialogue (featuring Matt Berry and Jon Blyth, among others), the experience leans heavily on sharp comedic timing, cheeky double entendres, and authentically exaggerated Yorkshire charm.

The entire phrase is underlined. The bottom banner says, "You simply won't get tinier" with 'won't underlined and red.

Features

  • Bold visual design blending side-scrolling action with open-area exploration
  • Increasingly strange odd jobs, from mowing lawns to traversing the astral plane
  • Hand-crafted animation and original story grounded in Yorkshire folklore
  • Authentic regional dialects to keep you laughing (and maybe confused)
  • An oddly moving original soundtrack
