Digimon Story Time Stranger Launches on Nintendo Switch July 10

Bandai Namco has announced that Digimon Story Time Stranger will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on July 10, 2026, bringing its expansive monster-taming RPG adventure to Nintendo players for the first time. Developed by h.a.n.d., Inc., the title previously launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, where it sold over one million units worldwide.

Pre-orders are now open for the Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Digital Ultimate editions, with additional platform-specific features confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 players.

A Journey Across Time, Between Two Worlds

Designed as an accessible entry point for RPG fans, Digimon Story Time Stranger places players in the role of an agent of ADAMAS, thrust into a crisis that threatens both the Human World and the Digital World. As reality itself begins to fracture, players must travel between worlds and across time to prevent total collapse.

Central to the experience is the ability to collect, tame, and battle more than 450 Digimon, forging bonds that allow them to evolve and unlock new abilities. Strategic, turn-based combat rewards careful planning, team synergy, and long-term progression as players and their Digimon grow stronger together.

Enhanced Performance on Nintendo Switch 2

On Nintendo Switch 2, players will be able to choose between two visual modes tailored to their playstyle. Quality Mode delivers up to 4K HDR visuals at 30 FPS while docked, or Full HD at 30 FPS in handheld mode. Performance Mode prioritizes smoother gameplay, offering Full HD visuals at up to 60 FPS on both docked and handheld modes.

These options allow players to experience the game either with enhanced visual fidelity or faster, more responsive combat.

Players who pre-order Digimon Story Time Stranger will receive bonus content, including the Uniform of a Certain School costumes, an Adventure Item Set, and fan-favorite Digimon Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black).

The Standard Edition includes the base game and all pre-order bonuses. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Cyber Sleuth costume set and the Season Pass, while the Digital Ultimate Edition expands further with additional costumes, side missions, early Digivolution unlocks for special Agumon and Gabumon, a Public Safety Suit costume set, special supplies, and a Cyber Sleuth background music pack.

Season Pass and Post-Launch Content

The Nintendo Switch Season Pass includes three DLC packs, each featuring five additional Digimon and a new story episode. A Golden Moai farm item is also included, allowing players to decorate their Digifarm. These DLC packs will release individually in the months following launch and will be available for standalone purchase.

With its ambitious narrative, expanded Digimon roster, and refined battle systems, Digimon Story Time Stranger represents the next evolution of the long-running series and a major RPG release for Nintendo platforms this summer.
