Time-bending JRPG Another Eden Begins is officially set for a global launch in Summer 2026, coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Developed and published by Wright Flyer Studios, the upcoming title marks a major new chapter for the franchise and a notable creative milestone with the formation of a brand-new development team led by legendary RPG writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears).
The new internal studio, Studio Prisma, will spearhead development under Kato’s guidance, bringing his signature approach to narrative-driven RPG design into a fresh, standalone experience within the Another Eden universe.
A New Time-Traveling Epic with Familiar DNA
While Another Eden Begins continues the series’ core theme of time travel and parallel worlds, it introduces an entirely new cast of characters and a standalone storyline designed to welcome newcomers. Past, present, and future collide as players explore a branching multiverse filled with meaningful choices, deep character relationships, and long-term narrative consequences.
The main story features full English voice acting, a first for the series, further emphasizing its cinematic ambitions. Players can expect story-rich quests where bonds with battle companions evolve over time, shaping both gameplay and narrative outcomes.
Branching Narratives and Multiple Endings
Another Eden Begins leans heavily into replayability through a branching narrative structure. Completing the game unlocks New Game+ content, introducing an additional character into the main storyline and opening up new narrative paths.
In total, the game features ten different endings, encouraging players to revisit key moments and explore alternate timelines to uncover the multiverse’s many possible futures.
Enhanced Combat, Visuals, and Legendary Music
The game sports enhanced visuals and a refined turn-based battle system, designed to take advantage of both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. Wright Flyer Studios notes that performance and presentation have been carefully tuned to ensure smooth gameplay across platforms.
Complementing the experience is a brand-new main theme composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross, Xenogears), with folk-instrument orchestration handled by Procyon Studio. The result promises a musical identity that blends emotional storytelling with the series’ signature sense of wonder.
A New Studio, A Familiar Vision
“Masato Kato’s storytelling is second to none, and Another Eden Begins will be just as unforgettable as our previous work,” said Shinnosuke Hirasawa, Head of Studio Prisma. “We have much more information to share in the near future. Stay tuned!”
Another Eden Begins launches Summer 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam), with language support for English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
